More Time Makes a Difference for Mini Miracles
Felicia Hales is the administrator of Mini Miracles Learning Center, a child care center in Cincinnati. The Learning Center cares for children from six weeks to five years old, providing a safe environment for kids and peace of mind for busy parents.
Hales credits Ronald Coleman, trustee chair, and Rev. Nance, former pastor of New Vision UMC, with first telling her about UMC Food. She later met with UMC Food’s Jenny Turnbull to discuss a possible partnership. Not long after, Mini Miracles began receiving food five days a week—breakfast, lunch and a snack. UMC Food now delivers food to Mini Miracles daily, including breakfast and snacks for the following day, all of which are nonperishable.
With the added capacity UMC Food provides, Hales can spend more time teaching and participating in other activities with the children. Along with her teaching duties, Hales serves as the center’s administrator, ensuring compliance with state requirements for the facility. UMC Food also provides resources that help her meet state regulations for the kitchen.
UMC Food has been an invaluable asset to Mini Miracles Learning Center. Its support has allowed Felicia to work more closely with the children and stay on top of state and local guidelines for the facility. It has also helped cut costs significantly, allowing her to focus more fully on the children she serves.
