More Time Makes a Difference for Mini Miracles
Felicia Hales is the administrator of Mini Miracles Learning Center, a child care center in Cincinnati. The Learning Center cares for children from six weeks to five years old, providing a safe environment for kids and peace-of-mind for busy parents.
Hales credits Ronald Coleman, trustee chair, and Rev. Nance, former Pastor of New Vision UMC, for first telling her about UMCFood. Hales met with UMCFood’s Jenny Turnbull about a possible partnership with UMCFood. Not long after, Mini Miracles began receiving food five days a week – breakfast, lunch and a snack. UMCFood now delivers food to Mini Miracles every day, which includes breakfast and snack for the succeeding day, all of which are nonperishable.
With the added capacity UMCFood provides the center, Hales can use her time to teach and participate in other activities with the children. Not only does she teach, but she also serves as the center’s administrator, which means maintaining compliance with state requirements for the facility. UMCFood also provides resources to help her meet state requirements for her kitchen.
UMCFood has been an invaluable asset to Mini Miracles Learning Center. Not only has UMCFood’s support allowed Felicia to work more closely with the children and keep up with state and local guidelines for the facility, it’s also helped cut her costs significantly and created an opportunity where she can better focus on the children she serves.
